Whoa, way to kick it off guys! SF State and UC Santa Cruz battled it out on stage last night at the legendary Purple Onion in San Francisco. Both teams were impressively funny and performed like pros.

Our panel of judges, and our voting audience, had a tough decision in their hands come voting time. Ultimately four comics from each team were chosen as their school’s Starting Lineup. Def keep an eye on these two teams in the Select 16 online voting round. It’s going to be a close call! Vote for your fave on March 10th and 11th at TBS.com/college.

St. Cloud State is new to NCCC this year, but their comics are already top notch!  The Quarry in Atwood was packed with students who were treated to a very funny show by comics of all levels of experience and all different styles.  Congrats to the St. Cloud team!  Next up, St. Cloud will compete against the University of Minnesota on March 21st at House of Comedy.

Awesome event tonight at Emerson College in downtown Boston! Students chose comedy over the Super Bowl and packed The Cabaret to cheer on their friends. We had over 20 students show up to perform with some really impressive talent. Super fun. Congrats to the Emerson Comedy Team!

Wow, awesome event at Boston College. Nearly 400 students came out on an icy night to support college comedy. We had 20 performers try out for the team – with just eight advancing. The competition was stiff and all performers were solid. Next up, BC will compete against Emerson at the Regional Rivals on 3/30 at Mottley’s!

Yep, we’re back! The 2011 NCCC is gonna be funnier than ever as we’ve updated the bracket with tough new schools and added a few twists in the competition. Four MVPs will get a highly-coveted performance spot at the TBS Presents Just for Laughs, Chicago.

To get in on it, students must attend one of the 32 participating schools and complete our online registration. Let the competition begin!

Today marks the close of the 3rd Annual RooftopComedy.com National College Comedy Competition (NCCC) presented by TBS, with the official crowning of Calvin Cole from University of Florida as America’s Funniest College Student. The competition kicked off in January with an on-campus talent search at 32 universities across the country. Comedy Teams then battled their way through a series of live events and online elimination rounds in tournament-style match-ups.

Sheesh, tough question! After dozens of live events and nailbiting elimination rounds, we’ve narrowed it down to just four finalists competing for the title of Funniest Student in America.

The four finalists won VIP trips to TBS Presents A “Very Funny” Festival: Just for Laughs in Chicago. The comics performed to a packed house and all brought their best to the LOL Lounge!

Watch their videos and vote for the funniest student now through June 28th at 6pm PT.

We’ve been having a blast out here in beautiful Aspen with our Funniest 4 Comedy Teams and our Funniest Filmmakers. Between outstanding stand-up acts, industry panels, live podcasts and blowout parties – it seems like tonight’s finals has snuck up on us!

Our two final teams, Emerson College and UF, will compete tonight at 5:30 MDT for the title of Funniest Stand-up Comedy Team. Our Funny Filmmakers will also be screening their films in hopes of winning the title of Funniest Filmmaker.

Make sure to watch live online and vote for your team! Winners will be announced online, Monday, June 14th.
