Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival

Rooftop favorite Moshe Kasher made his late night television debut on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night, and it was Moshe-riffic.

It’s no surprise that Moshe’s blowing up like we thought he would. He’s never scared to toe the edge, never scared to go off script. He’s irreverent, unapologetic, and never dumbs it down — even for network television. No wonder we named him “Best of the Fest” at last year’s Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival. The dude is hilarious. Also, he has really cool hair.

If you’re lucky enough to live in San Francisco, you can see Moshe headline the San Francisco Punchline tonight. If you don’t, well, you can always listen to Moshe’s album on iTunes.

CMT Next Big Comic finalist John Ramsey may have ditched his suit and tie for a six string and a stetson, but he sure didn’t ditch his trademark sense of humor. Who knows, with pipes like that maybe John will be country music’s first crossover comedy act turned pop star… since Darius Rucker.

Visit to watch more funny clips from John and the other three funny finalists in CMT’s Next Big Comic competition. Make sure to vote for your favorite comic, and help send the winner to the 2010 Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival this June!

A Tipsy Tight 5ive with Tommy Johnagin

Live from The Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival… two guys that “usually don’t drink” – “drink”, and the results are hilarious! Peep it.

Live From Aspen: A tight 5ive with Robert Hawkins

On this edition of A Tight 5ive with Punchline Magazine’s Dylan Gadino, 2008’s Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival Comic’s Comic Award winner Robert Hawkins discusses his new lip cactus, performs some impromptu poetry, and wears a funny hat in the process.  Enjoy!

A Tight 5ive: Live from the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival

On this edition of A Tight 5ive with Punchline Magazine’s Dylan Gadino, Rooftop favorite Dan Cummins discusses his new Comedy Central special, moving to Los Angeles, and lays out a blueprint on how to get drunk Dan Cummins style.

Josh Sneed Presents: Episode 123 of Detention (From Aspen)

2009 Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival performer alum Josh Sneed has a podcast, the very cool Detention Show.

This post is to inform you that episode 123 of Detention was recorded at the very same 2009 Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival, featuring special guests:
Robert Hawkins
Chad Daniels
Dan Cummins
Daniel Kinno
J.R. Brow
Lachlan Patterson
Dylan Gadino (Punchline Magazine)

Show notes from the official website as follows:
We come to you live from the Rooftop Aspen Comedy Festival for this freeform show. Over 7 guests sit down to talk comedy, sports, movies, the impact of September 11th on dogs, and we even do a little jam band. Epsiode 123, easy as ABC.

So don’t take my word for it, but episode 123 of Detention is waiting for you!

The Best Guest Editor of Fest

The man. The myth. The Best of Fest (of the just past 2009 Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival). The Guest Editor, Moshe Kasher. Himself. In the text.

Action Items:
– Buy his new (Rooftop Comedy produced) album, “Everyone You Know is Going to Die…And Then You Are” on iTunes.

– Those in the San Francisco-esque area attend Moshe’s CD release party for the aforementioned album at the SF Punch Line on July 7th.

With that said, here are his picks.
It’s like he says, everybody needs a blackass sometimes.

Jeanne Donaldson
Jeanne talks about what a lot of us…let’s face it, ALL of us, go through. The constant habitual harassment faced by the butt virgins of the world from the buttfucker community. Bill Hicks shot and missed when he tried to approach Jeanne’s level of comedic honesty and social commentary. Move over Hicks, there’s a new legend in town.

Chris Schiappacasse – You’re a whore
Sometimes, music breaks through barriers and allows the “inner cynic” to let down its guard and just laugh. That’s what “you’re a whore” is to me. And let’s face it, you ARE a whore.

Kerosene used to take me with him on the road to the various Improvisations and Playboy clubs around the country just like Shecky Berman used to do for him. If anyone has influenced my style directly, it’s Kerosene. Watch a master at work and try to learn something.

Moshe Kasher – A new haircut
Frankly, this guy just sucks.

siskel & negro – live in aspen! (part 3)

Episode 28 brings us to the third and final LIVE podcast from this year’s Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival. Special guest and fellow Denzel lover Ty Barnett chimes in on the The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 edition of ‘Denzel News’. Also, Lisa Landry and ‘Best of the Fest’ winner Moshe Kasher stop by and discuss all sorts of fun stuff. Check it out!

Subscribe to the show on iTunes and keep an eye out for more episodes coming soon.

The Oral History of the 2009 Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival

Because oral history sounds much cooler than primary drunken source.

It’s been a couple of days (a week anniversary since Aspen 09 occurred, to be precise) and after much soul searching, Twitter reviewing, photo looking, and piecing together hazy memories, I will attempt to bring you my account of what happened on those legendary three days that will live forever in myth. If you’d rather live Aspen through pictures, than words, feel free to check out our Facebook gallery or Flickr feed!

I dare you to try and read all of this, after the jump!

Siskel & Negro – Live from Aspen!

The Siskel & Negro show comes to you LIVE from Zane’s pub during this year’s Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival.  Over the three days of the festival, Siskel & Negro recorded three of the most epic podcasts ever recorded, including a slew of top shelf guests.

The first of three episodes bring you special guests Kyle Grooms, Ted Alexandro, NCCC finalists Zahra Noorbakhsh, Dave Thomason, and the Chicago Improv Mafia.  Also: Kate reviews a movie we’ve all seen a long, long time ago.

Also: subscribe to the show on iTunes and keep an eye out for the other two AMAZING episodes out later this week.
