Frankenhood is out today!

RooftopComedy was lucky enough to get a sneak peek of Frankenhood; a brand new flick starring Charlie Murphy, DeRay Davis and Jasper Redd (also featuring a personal fav, JB Smoove).  Check out our exclusive clip as well as an up close and personal interview with stars Jasper Redd, DeRay Davis, and director Blaxwell Smart later today!

Here is the official movie description:

Motown (DeRay Davis, Semi Pro) and Darius (Jasper Redd, Totally Baked: A Pot-U-Mentary) work in a morgue, trading put-downs and toiling among the most undemanding of customers.  Outside of their decidedly dreary jobs, the two dream of bigger and better things.  If only they could win the $25,000 prize that will go to the winners of the upcoming 3-on-3 Streetball Tournament.  One night, having been demoted to the graveyard shift, they catch their semi-sane colleague Franklin (Charlie Murphy, TV’s “Chappelle’s Show”) in a dark alley using the auto battery of Motown’s precious Gremlin to bring to life a monstrous dead man (Bob Sapp, The Longest Yard) whose heart Franklin has just replaced.  Now if they can just get their new mutant friend to play basketball, the basketball tournament is theirs!

Kamau is half of Rooftop’s Siskel & Negro. The SF Weekly named Kamau 2008 Comedian of The Year and called him, “smart, stylish, and very much in the mold of politically outspoken comedians like Dave Chappelle and Margaret Cho”, although he was more excited that they called him “handsome.”
