Daisy Whitney Guest Edits New Media
Daisy Whitney! Remember the name! She’s this week’s Guest Editor!
From her bio:
Daisy Whitney specializes in covering Internet video, social networking, YouTube, iTunes and other forms of online and new media distribution of content. As a multimedia reporter she is one of the first journalists to launch her own online newscast that covers the business of Internet video. Her work is regularly read and watched by executives across the television, cable, advertising and Internet businesses. She is currently TelevisionWeek’s new media reporter, extensively covering broadband video, iTunes, online television, consumer-generated media, interactive television, video-on-demand and mobile programming. She also contributes on-air reports to “Tech Now” a program produced by NBC’s KNTV in San Francisco. Daisy is also the host and creator of the Webcast “New Media Minute,” carried at www.TVWeek.com and on ABCNews.com. She is also the host of the podcast “This Week in Media.”
So the way that I see it, in response to the queries, does that give her enough credentials to be Guest Editor on RooftopComedy/is she a big deal, I can wholeheartedly say yes, to both counts.
And in what we’re hoping will be a tradition with Guest Editors, thoughts and musing about their pickings!
Gary Gulman – Girlfriend proof computer
“I mean, c’mon. Everyone knows you have to D&P – Delete and Purge. And beware broken shift button…”
Chad Daniels – Buying tampons
“That’s right! What IS the big deal about buying tampons for your woman, guys? Nothing, as Chad tells it. Plus, the ladies in the store will love you for this.”
Election Coverage – Episode 2
“Your tip sheet to the election. If a guy says ‘dude’ he’s voting blue, if he says ‘dude ranch,’ he’s a red.”
Tig Notaro – Got to say this bit
“Some things are better left unsaid. Here’s why it’s good to keep a mental checklist.”
