Alex Koll is Awesome (AKA Shred Begley Jr)
What brought Alex Koll to RooftopComedy? An elevator, the Richmond BART train, the propulsion of a bi-pedal locomotive system, fueled by the energy provided by various proteins and starches after molecular breakdown. That, and an attractive salary.
Alex Koll, stand-up comedy person (Clips on our site too!), SF Air Guitar winner, and one third of Boomtime, “the newest incarnation of Berlin’s seminal avant-garde modern dance troupe: Bodies-In-Motion” graces RooftopComedy as one of its new hires, doing as he puts it, “everything nobody else wants to do.” (video production, editing, things like that)
And life before RooftopComedy? Lots of things — baking cakes, making balloon animals, wedding photography, pushing movie equipment around, maintenance at a major art school in SF, taking pictures of children who play little league baseball and soccer (he needed the money).
There’s also the matter of him being the champion of San Francisco (in Air Guitar, 2008). Alex told me, in an inquiry as to how it felt to win (the long-short of it), “have you ever masturbated so long, they run a full page article about you in the Chronicle?”
Overall, Alex is happy to be here, and is looking forward to winter here at the Rooftop offices. Here is a clip of him BR (Before RooftopComedy) along with Rooftop-a-naughts Emily H and Annie, reading their e-mails! Uh-oh!
