Irina Slutsky is an internet superstar. RooftopComedy feels more internet-y and superstarry with her as our guest editor this week! She is the host of the internet famous Geek Entertainment TV, “reporting from deep inside the bubble as it re-inflates.”
Irina wrote about her picks, and as promised, here is the what she has to say about her picks!
Most of my life, I’ve heard that I’m funny. I’d say its true most of the time. So I really identify with the comics on RooftopComedy and its fun for me to watch. I picked the ones about Obama’s skin color and racism and real estate because I’m not sure still how to deal with racism in the world and I think the first step to dealing with anything is joking about it, but not in a mean way just in a “Hey, look at that” way — and I think both of these clips do that well.
I picked the clip about losing keys and the key bowl because I went to see a very expensive psychiatrist who was supposed to help me stop losing my keys, and he told me to, yep, GET A KEY BOWL. Doh! I lost the key bowl, of course, so now I just put the keys on top of my fridge. If I lose the fridge, I’m gonna have to call him back for another appointment. The guy’s father who can’t just accept the sticker price, well, what can I say. My parents emigrated from Russia and unless you came from some royal family, every immigrant family I know is a bargain shopper. And of course, the reporter who made a mistake, well, I’m a reporter and I make tons of mistakes. That one was just funny.
