Aspen was just one big, long smile. Every single person i've spoken to has had nothing but rave reviews.
For me personally, i couldn't have been more impressed with all the comics....amazing. And that goes for off stage as well as on. Like you said, Andi, "There were no “actor / comedians” or huge egos" and I think that was why the weekend was such a smashing success. That 'community feeling' that you guys mentioned above is so true...it really felt like a big, happy comedy family.
see everyone next year.

I thought it was the best ever, frankly. As you implied, Andi, it was a great shot of adrenaline and ... dare I say love? ... in a profession that can leave you tired quick.

I just had one of the best weekends of my life. I didn't want it to end. It felt like I was there for a whole year in one way, and just 15 minutes in another way.

You're right it's hard to get smart-ass comics to put their weight behind a collective thing. But as far as I could tell, everyone did.

Plus it felt like we were part of something new -- a new kind of festival in a new era of standup.

I was just so chuffed. I felt like I didn't stop grinning all weekend.

I can get sappy and romantic, but ... the minute I got off the plane I knew it was going to be great. And yeah -- everyone watched everyone's set too, which doesn't always happen.

Can we do it again next weekend?

A great article, Andi, and i must say, i especially enjoyed the line about no actor/comedians or huge egos rolling through to the fest, like other mountain-located gatherings i know of.
